2011-03-15 - On behalf of all of us at ABB Group, both in Japan and all around the world, our thoughts are with the victims of the tragic earthquake and resultant tsunami on Friday 11 March, 2011. The loss of lives, property and infrastructure is vast and will require strong community effort to bring some normality back to the lives of people in the areas most affected by this disaster.
ABB in Japan will donate JPY 10 million to the Japan Red Cross to assist with the immediate emergency relief efforts. We Will also work closely with our customers and local authorities to determine how we could further support through providing our products and equipment or through providing expertise
ABB in Japan has also started a donations drive with our employees. ABB will contribute an equal amount to the employee collections so as to double these donations.
At this most difficult time for the people of Japan, we will always be with the customers, colleagues and the wider community, to support whichever way we can as a responsible corporate citizen.
